Allergies

While the majority of our products are nut free, we do have two ingredients (raisins & pecans) that require an allergy alert for nuts. We use raisins which contain a warning on the bag stating that they are processed in a facility that handles tree nuts. And we recently added the option of pecans to our cinnamon buns.

Please be assured that we take every precaution to ensure that our products meet your high expectations.

We will do our best to accommodate your request, please provide us as much notice & details as possible. You can do this on the “Check-Out” page where you are asked to enter your postal code, please scroll down to the “Order Notes” data field and enter your allergy information.

Because we limit our free delivery service to only 2 south west postal codes (T2W & T2V).

So if your billing or shipping address has a different postal code than either of these two and you have selected your Order Type as [Delivery] & “Use my Shipping Address” you will get this message.

To correct this, click on the [back to Pickup or Delivery Locations] button, here you can select one of the predefined delivery locations provided within the drop down or you can select Order Type [Pick Up] and choose one of the predefined pick up locations within the drop down. Whichever is more convenient for you to grab your order.

Food Sensitivity Products

The majority of the customers who’ve tried our gluten free or vegan products have been very pleased with them.

We welcome your review & feedback of our products. Customers need to have an account on our website before they can comment on our products.

Any feedback provided may be posted publicly on the site to assist all our valued customers.

We want to protect our products therefore we don’t disclose our ingredients. If you have an allergy or dietary concern we will do our best to meet your needs.

Our traditional buns do contain dairy.

Our gluten free buns do contain dairy but they can be made without these ingredients if requested.

Our vegan buns do not contain dairy.

No, none of our products contain eggs.

We make gluten-free buns and vegan buns.

Gift Cards

No, the purchase of your “Gift Card” has to be processed before it can be used. Once you receive your Gift Card # via e-mail then you can order product at that time.

If you purchased an original $100 RUSBuns Bill or a new $100 “Gift Card”, and you have not claimed your free pan of traditional cinnamon buns or cinnamon buns with raisins (regular size), you will receive a Voucher # via email.

You can then enter this Voucher # at the “Check Out” page when you are processing your next order for a free pan of traditional cinnamon buns on the website.

If you have unused $$ on your original RUSBuns Bill or you just purchased a new “Gift Card”, you will receive a Gift Card # via email that has been loaded with your outstanding or new balance.

You can enter this Gift Card # at the “Check Out” page as you process your order on the website.

The RUSBuns Bill was our original paper prepaid gift card that came in $50 & $100 denominations. It did not have an expiry date and was an excellent gift to give anyone who appreciates homemade buns.

The virtual “Gift Cards” are available in $25, $50 and $100 denominations.

The virtual “Gift Cards” do not have expiry dates.

The original RUSBuns Bill, and now the virtual Gift Card, in $100 denominations comes with a free pan of traditional cinnamon buns or cinnamon buns with raisins. This free pan of cinnamon buns is not available in gluten free or vegan varieties.

Payment Options

No, not at this time. This will be evaluated as our company grows.

While in the “Check Out” screen, ensure that you select the E-Transfer Option and follow the instructions.

Cash, cheques made payable to Terry Russell and electronic transfers. If you purchased or received a “Gift Card” you can use it to pay for your order.

If you have received a free Coupon with your $100 “Gift Card”, you can use it to purchase a regular size pan of Traditional Cinnamon Buns or Traditional Cinnamon Buns with raisins.

Pickup & Delivery

Yes you can pick up your order at a few different locations. The pickup locations are listed on our website when you are “Checking Out”. Our business licence has restrictions on the number of vehicles that can pick up from our home. Once you choose a location you will also have to select the date and time you will be able to pick up your order.

No, we have limited resources to deliver your order so we focus on the southwest areas. On the checkout page you will notice delivery locations set up for our commercial customers.

We deliver to homes or businesses with postal codes starting with T2V and T2W only. To have your order delivered select the “Use My Shipping Address” within the delivery option, then depending on the postal code you have provided within your Shipping Address you will see if we can deliver to your location.

We prefer to have 2 days notice for an order but you can certainly ask if buns are available on a shorter notice. You can use the “Contact Us” page on the site to make a request and we will let you know if your time frame can be met with a rush charge.

We are a home-based business located in Braeside near the Southland Leisure Centre. Based on City of Calgary requirements we are not able to advertise our address. You will be aware of our address once you order buns and if you choose to pick them up.

We love our neighbourhood and we have awesome neighbours. Some of them know how good our products are so they’ll understand if you want our products. If you are picking up your order please drive slowly on our street as there are young children in the area. Please park on our driveway so our neighbours parking spots are left for their use. Product - Freezing

Yes, you may want to request that your order be double wrapped if you know they will be frozen at the time you place your order. You can do this when “Checking Out” where you are asked to enter your postal code, please scroll down to the “Order Notes” data field and enter your wrapping preferences.

Yes you can. Your order will be wrapped in two packages; either two packs of six buns if you order regular size, or two packs of 12 buns if you order the mini size. We won’t individually wrap every bun.

We are happy to single or double wrap your order.

Single wrapped for you to enjoy it now or double wrapped for you to place it in your freezer to enjoy it later.

No, we don’t sell unbaked products due to food safety and handling guidelines.

Yes, if we have inventory we will sell buns that have been baked and frozen. They will be marked with the name of the flavour you ordered, the date they were baked and the best before date.

Yes, they freeze exceptionally well.

We recommend that you individually wrap our products with plastic wrap, gently squeezing any excess air out then store them in a large freezer bag. Make a note on the bag when you froze them.

The benefit of individually freezing buns is that they can be taken out of your freezer one at a time and enjoyed anytime of the day. Allow them to thaw then lightly microwave them make a great snack for school or work lunches.

Product - General

No, they are not very spicy. If you want them hotter, you may want to order extra jalapeno peppers at an additional cost.

No. Our cinnamon buns are a traditional recipe and we believe that they are sweet enough. We often hear that they are just like Mom or Grandma used to make.

You can add anything to our products that you want but we think they’re amazing just as they are.

Yes. We are pleased to provide our calorie count information on products that you purchase.

Our traditional cinnamon buns are over 50% LOWER in calories than cinnamon buns commonly found in malls.

The traditional cinnamon bun is our most popular product. Once you try it we believe that you’ll understand why. You can also see our most popular items on the home page of our website based on overall to-date sales.

We have 3 flavors : Cinnamon buns (raisins, pecans, glace cherries optional), Cheese buns (jalapeño peppers optional), Canary buns (poppy, flax, sesame, sunflower & pumpkin seeds). These buns are available in 3 varieties: Traditional, Gluten free, Vegan. We do not make vegan cheese buns.

All buns are available in regular size (12 buns) while some buns are available in mini size (24 buns).

Product - Labelling

The variety (traditional, gluten free or vegan) will be identified along with the flavour (cinnamon, cheese or canary seed).

The “Date Baked” and the “Best Before” date will also be listed on the package.

We also sell baked and frozen cinnamon buns. These just need to be thawed, microwaved and enjoyed.

Product - Ordering

No, we make all our products in full pans of the same variety (traditonal, gluten friendly or vegan) and the same flavour (cinnamon, cheese or canary). If you want half a pan of different flavours, we recommend that you place an order with a friend & share your orders so you can enjoy the different flavours.

It can be a challenge to get product at special times of the year as we have limited capacity. We will do our best to increase our capacity prior to specials seasons of the year as we are able to.

Watch for increased capacity and place your order as early as possible.

We also sell baked & frozen cinnamon buns so you may want to purchase those for your special occasions.

Please note that these frozen products are only available as inventory exists.

A “regular” pan has 12 buns and a “mini” pan has 24 buns.

We wrap all our pans in 2 half sections.

This is due to our home-based business: we take some days off, and we have limited baking capacity.
Once our daily limit has been reached, that date on the calendar will be greyed out, and no additional orders can be placed for that day. You can contact us by email or use the “Contact Us” page to see if we can possibly accommodate your additional requirements.

Product - Pricing

No, they take just as much time and effort to craft as our traditional buns, plus there are additional costs associated with wrapping them for your convenience.

We do our best to maintain consistent prices throughout the year but we do reserve the right to change our prices without notice.

We currently do not charge GST but this may change as our company grows, at which time GST would be added to the cost of your order.

Product - Serving

We recommend you thoroughly enjoy one bun at a time.

The cheese buns are great with soups, stews or cut in half with barbequed items.

Remember to load it up with all sorts of healthy veggies – yum!!

They are also very nice cut in half & toasted as a sandwich.

If you have teenagers in your home, or a full grown teenager, your order may not make it to the freezer!

One customer cut cinnamon buns in half and dipped them into french toast mixture then pan fried them.

You will have to determine if any syrup is required.

Product - Storing

Typically they are wrapped in plastic wrap in half pan sections.

Regular sized buns will be packaged in 6’s while mini sized buns will be packaged in 12’s.

Napkins and forks will be included unless you inform us that they aren’t required.

As there are very few preservatives added to our products, the buns are best in the first few days.

Most of our buns are enjoyed within two days.

We recommend that you individually wrap any buns after two days and freeze them.

No, our products should be stored at room temperature or frozen.

We recommend that frozen buns be enjoyed within 3 months of the date they were baked. One customer had buns that were frozen longer than the 3 month timeframe and she stated that the buns were very good.

Most customers enjoy the buns within the first few days. I suggested to one customer that any extra buns can be frozen. He tried them and quickly told his wife “there will be no need for a freezer”. Thanks Dan & Carolyn for enjoying our products.

Absolutely, we do. You can wrap them securely with plastic wrap then place them in a large freezer bag. Make a note on the bag when you freeze them. Take out one bun at a time, or more if you have friends or family to share them with, allow them to thaw then lightly microwave them
